20 tips on staying sane while traveling with two (or more):

Image
Hi Moms & Dads, For those not on my social media and wondering why I have been missing for the past few weeks, it's because I was enjoying the comforts (or lack there of) of my old stomping ground with both my babies - dear old New York. Okay fine, there is nothing old about that ever evolving city, it remains the most energizing and invigorating place. My son now asks me every day why we don't live in New York with it's ample parks and museums at walking distance or in a city where there is a Disneyland (we spent a week in California and also in Boston as my brother - yes, he is still single - just graduated from Harvard Business School). The travel bug seems to be contagious, so if you have caught it too, and are traveling around any time soon, here are some tips on traveling with two, and staying (relatively) sane. Still in two minds? As tiring as it can be, I don't think anything teaches our kids more than travel does (and that one on one time away with us). Not...

10 tips on How to feed your little one, no matter what their age:

It has always amazed me how much of my attention span is devoted to fulfilling my palette and satisfying my taste buds. In part because I'm a picky eater, but even more so because I love food. Particularly junk food, sweet food, fried food, dessert, meat, and anything that is not green, yellow or red, or resembles a vegetable (unless ofcourse it's fried, then please, by all means, bring it on!). Post baby, pre diet (I'm talking about myself ofcourse) My tendency to love all things fattening has not worked out well in my favor, as I currently struggle to zip up and drop the post baby pounds. So I decided from the moment my baby was born that he is going to learn to eat healthy. And not just eat it, but to enjoy healthy foods. Some may say he's thin and doesn't look all that chunky, or like a child who eats 5 times a day, but to me, as long as he eats somewhat of his meals, at the right times, I'm happy (and I'm also happy that he is not that "healthy...

Hi Moms, I often tell you to focus on yourself and try to get some me time. So I am going to practice what I have been preaching and give you a few minutes of me time by talking about you today, and not your babies. Let's start with the fact that you deserve a medal. Not only because you are an involved enough mother to be reading up on parenting, but because you did it - you grew a baby in your belly, and gave birth to it (for my pregnant readers, you too will be here soon but don't shy away from accepting your current accomplishments, and also ofcourse keeping your feet high up!). Really, the list of your accomplishments since you found out you were pregnant are endless, but so is the list of changes that your life and your body has been through. Here are 14 things about your body and health, that you should know: 1. You're body has been through it all. Every organ has felt stress and felt change, and what our muscles have been through is even more taxing. It is okay to n...

The fact that I have a baby is a shock to my system, not because I forget he exists, or I don't adore every second I spend with him, but because I just don't feel old enough to have a baby. Let alone a babbling, toddling, crashing into things a 1 year old! The last year has been a blurry cascade of tears, laughs, pumping, feeding, trying to sleep, planning to wash my hair (eventually), chasing a baby on all four (and then on twos), and more.  But mostly I cannot believe I am where I am because my last year has been a blur of one memory fading into the next with the only constant being that "this too shall pass," whether I want it to or not. So, here I am again, with a big milestone upon me (My human son's first birthday), reflecting on the year gone by and the many many lessons I have gained with all the minutes that I have lost. Below are 15 of the life lessons I picked up during my son's first year. (For those of you who missed my older post, 20 life lessons...
